Today in our 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty, we've got out the Let's Go Aero GearCage. We're doing a test on it just to see how it matches up against the rear of the vehicle. This carrier measures 32 by 48. It's been designed to carry up to 300 pounds and also for use in 2-inch hitches. Part number on it is HCR222. Now, I like the solid floor in this carrier. Very different to a lot of the other carriers we have. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Ford F-150- Video
Today on our 2012 Ford F150 we've got the MaxxTow 21" x 48" Aluminum Cargo Carrier and we're test fitting it. Now, this cargo carrier is designed to carry up to 500lb and it's also for use with inches hitches. Part number on it is MT70422. This is a very light weight, easy to handle cargo carrier that's one of my favorite things about it. Mainly aluminum construction and the main steel shank running through middle here give us that great capacity. We've got an aluminum sladed for floors, so you can imagine that's going to allow for a lot of dirt and debris and stuff like that to fall down and out. If you plan on transporting really small items maybe not the best plan. As far as the raised edge around the outside it's going to be about two inches high, so that's going to give us plenty of room for stability. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Ford F-150- Video
Today on our 2012 Ford F-150 we've got out the Stromberg Carlson 23x60 cargo carrier, we're going to test fit it. This carrier is designed to carry up to 500 pounds, and it's going to work great with two inch hitches. Part number on it is CC-100. One of the biggest standout features I think about the carrier is the size of the expanded steel floor. That's larger than what we typically see, so even if we've got larger, chunky mud and stuff it should fall down in through there without building up on top of our carrier. We've also got a small raised edge around the outside, you can see that's about two and three quarters of an inch high, offers this stability and also a lot of nice connection points all the way around so we can get our gear secured once we've got it loaded up. Now all told, got about six and a quarter inches of total thickness, so as we put that up against the wall in our garage if you can imagine, it's not going to take up a lot of room. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Ford F-150- Video

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Ford F-150 C18150- Video
Today on our 2012 Ford F150 we've got out the Curt 20 X 60 cargo carrier and we're testing it. This carrier has been designed for use in 2" hitches and it has a capacity of 500 lbs. Part number on it is C18150. I really like the rail on this carrier. It's a nice high profile, it's going to give us good front to back and side to side stability for our gear. You can see there it measures about 5.5 inches high. The expanded steel that we've got on the floor here, it's going to be along the smaller side so it's going to give up great support for smaller diameter items or something we might be putting on there, but still plenty of room for the dirt and debris to wash down and out. more

Today on our 2006 Ford F150 we've got the Strongbird Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier on. We're going to do a test fit of it. This cargo carrier will carry up to 500 pounds and they designed it for use in 2 inch hitches. Part number on it is CC=100. Now I like how big the expanded steel here is on the floor, it gives a lot of large areas for mud, dirt, debris, stuff like that to fall down and out of the carrier. It's also going to have a raised edge all the way around the outside, it's about two and three quarters of an inch high. more

Now the thing that really stands out to me about the gear cage is going to be the solid floor. Now it's going to help to keep those smaller items or things that might have smaller pressure points, chairs, and things from going down through some of that expanded steel that we see on the other carriers. It also got a nice raised edge all the way around the outside, it's going to be 7 inches off of our platform height. more

Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Ford Explorer- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Explorer, we're doing a test fit of the Carpod 23x47 walled cargo carrier, part number M2205. It's designed to work with two inch hitches and has a weight capacity of 450 pounds. The first thing we're going to do is take a few measurements. Our ground clearance is first, we have about 20 1/2 inches. Overall to the vehicle we're adding about 34 inches. Our closest point is going to be on this raised shank here, at about 5 1/2 inches away. With our Explorer we do have a dual exhaust, comes out of the passenger and driver side. Although it's lower than the carrier, it still comes out about 15 1/2 inches, so you may want to be careful carrying any heat sensitive materials on your carrier. more

Today on our 2011 Ford Edge we're going to be test fitting the Let's Go Arrow cargo carrier for 2 inch hitches, part number HCR222. This has a 300 pound weight capacity, the dimensions are 48 inches long, by 32 inches wide, by 7 inches deep. It has these 3 planks here to hold any cargo you may need such as coolers, or pet carriers, or whatever you don't want inside your vehicle. We're going to go ahead and start off by giving you some measurements here starting off with the distance added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier is installed. Measure from the bumper, from the bumper to this point here, we're at about 40 inches. For the ground clearance, which is going to be to this point, we're right at 13 1/2 inches. more

Today on this 2011 Ford Edge, we're going to be test-fitting the 20 by 60 Curt Cargo Carrier with a 500-pound weight capacity, Part Number C18150. Now, we have it installed on our hitch already. You can see this has this nice mesh flooring here, which is going to make it a lot easier to clean it whenever you have whatever it is that you don't want inside your vehicle. Our ground clearance is going to be first. To this bolt down here at the bottom of the carrier, we have about 13 inches of clearance. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2006 Ford Ranger- Video
Today on our 2006 Ford Ranger, we're doing a test fit of the Maxxtow 48 by 21 cargo carrier. That part number is MT70422. Now, we already have our carrier attached to our truck. We're just going to first take a few measurements. Our ground clearance back here is going to be about 14 and 3 1/4 inches. Overall to the truck, we're adding about 20 inches and our closest point is going to be about 5 1/2 inches away there. Now, one thing to note about our ranger is that we do have a single passenger side exhaust. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2006 Ford Ranger- Video
Today on our 2006 Ford Ranger we're doing a test fit of the CURT 20 by 60 folding cargo carrier. That part number is C18151. It is designed to work with 2" hitches and has a maximum weight capacity of 500 pounds. Now we've already got it on our vehicle. The first thing we're going to do is take a few measurements. We've got about 15-1/4" of ground clearance here. That's because we do have a bit of a raised shank back here. more

Rage PowerSport Motorcycle Carrier with Long Ramp Installation - 2011 Ford F-350- Video
Today on our 2011 Ford F350, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Rage Power Sports motorcycle carrier. This will be part number SMC600. As you can see, we've already got our bike completely mounted up with all of our straps in place, our ramp in place, and looking good on the back of our vehicle. Let's go ahead and talk about how it's secured to the vehicle. On the fronts side here, you're going to have a 2-inch shank going into your 2-inch receiver. Note that this rack does come with your hitch pin and clip as well as a half inch bolt with the bushing around it. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Ford Flex- Video
Today on our 2014 Ford Flex, we're doing a test fit of the Stromberg Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier. It has a 500-pound weight capacity. This is designed to work with 2-inch hitches. First thing we'll do is take a few measurements here. First is going to be our ground clearance. We're going to go to the bottom of this bolt here, just under the carrier, we're going to have about 7 1/2 inches of ground clearance down there. more
